Alongside Gilmore Girls, writing has been a constant in my life. So much has changed in the past few years–heck, in the past few days. The world was rocked by a pandemic. I became a college graduate. I’ve moved between three different towns/cities. I lost two family members. And now, I’m married.
Sometimes it feels like life moves insanely fast, and the only things that keep me grounded are loved ones, writing, my meds, and watching TV characters obsess over coffee.
Writing gives me clarity and (in some cases) direction, whether I’m journaling, writing a short story, or jotting down a poem. The act of writing helps me process my feelings. It helps me get a better understanding of what I want and what I need. It’s been with me through the bad and the unbelievably good.
Whatever Else Comes My Way
I got married this past week, and yes, I will gush about it. The man that I’ve married is kind, smart, strong-willed, generous, loving, and caring. I love him dearly. The wedding was beautiful and so much fun. Truly beyond anything I could have hoped for.
With such a major life event slowly passing me, I can’t help but reflect on all the major things that have happened in the past few years and all the things that will happen. It’s both exciting and terrifying.
Even so, I know that writing will be there to guide me through whatever else comes my way.
Join the Just Write-A-Thon!
On Saturday, November 16th, I’m hosting my first Just Write-A-Thon. Whether you have a writing goal you’re trying to meet or just want to hang out and work on your current project with other writers, I’d love to have you join me!
The write-a-thon runs from 6:00PM to 12:00AM MST and is hosted on Microsoft Teams (its kind of like Zoom, lol).
This is a free event. You can come and go as you please.
Join us for stints of writing, playings of well-known works (for that extra boost of creativity), and the essential snack break.
